Description of the Procedure This minimally invasive procedure allows your surgeon to access only the diseased portion of the knee, and with the new Accuris instrumentation, allows your surgeon to accurately replace the damaged surface of the knee. Brief description of the procedure: 1. Exposure with 3-4 inch incision. 2. The knee joint is properly balanced. 3. The end of the femur and top of the tibia are shaped to accommodate the implants with the unique Accuris instrumentation system. 4. Trial components are placed to ensure proper alignment. 5. Once properly aligned, the trial components are removed. 6. The femoral and tibial components are implanted. 7. The incision is closed. |
